You are here:

Christmas is just a few days away! We can finally focus on family and relax, have a leisurely brunch. This recipe is an updated version of the classic French toast, made in the oven. The delicious smell of cinnamon wafts throughout the house as it bakes, perfect for the Christmas spirit.

As complicated as the name sounds, it's easy to make. You will need a packet of Pantastico! White toast on bread (you can replace this with Pantastico! Buttered toast with slices also), 6 eggs, 200 grams of brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, 120 grams of butter or baking margarine, 500 ml of milk and icing sugar.

First of all, preheat the oven to 220 degrees, then get a jenai baking dish and a small pan. Put the butter in the latter and start heating. In the meantime, butter the jenai dish. When the butter has melted in the pan, add the 200 g brown sugar. Stir until you have a liquid mass. Pour this quickly into the jenai. Dice 6-8 slices of bread and spread this on top of the caramel sauce as the next layer. Then pour 500 ml of milk into a large bowl, add 6 eggs, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix well and pour on top of the breads. Finally, sprinkle the whole with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Place in the oven and bake for about half an hour, until the brown sugar on top is nicely melted. Sprinkle with icing sugar when serving.
