Press release on the launch of the project
Even more durable toast bread
On 21.09.2020, our organisation, F&R Partner Ltd. submitted an application within the framework of the Market-driven research, development and innovation projects support (2020-1.1.2-PIACI KFI) tender scheme announced by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office.
Following the assessment of our application for funding, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology qualified our project proposal as worthy of funding in the amount of HUF 178 021 666, with a funding intensity of 59.14%, in accordance with the decision dated 01.12.2020. The total cost of the project is HUF 301 036 020.
The project is 2020-1.1.2-PIACI-KFI-2020-00127, Development of recipes, production technology and quality assurance systems for a family of bakery products with a long shelf-life (minimum 180 days) will be implemented with the help of the grant over a planned period of 3 years.
Unfortunately, the last year and a half has shown how important durable food can be in a problematic period - a COVID epidemic. During the first wave, long-preserved products were gone from the shelves of shops in no time. Bread - THE FOOD! - is one of our basic foods, a part of our daily meals. Many people have tried to bake bread at home, with varying degrees of success, but this cannot be the solution in a hurried world.
Our company, F&R Partner Ltd., has been distributing packaged, long-lasting bakery products for many years, among which the Pantastico® sliced toast bread range stands out. This product is currently sold with a 60-day expiry date, and even this is not always enough. Our expertise and experience in the production of breads and toast rolls clearly show that we can increase the expiry date to 180 days - half a year - by using new, highly treated, germ-free ingredients.
The result of the development will be bread with a long shelf life that meets the requirements of a healthy diet. The products that will be brought to market as a result of this innovation will contain no preservatives or E-number additives, which many people find scary.
The development period set out in the tender is 3 years, during which time the bread range can be extended to include other unique products to meet specific needs. The feedback from our market partners confirms that our quality meets their expectations perfectly, so we can be confident that the new products will also be well received.
